Within the first 48 hours after a disaster, the Aftermath Response team arrives on site at a designated Command Center to lead, organize, and help put in motion the immediate relief and the long term organizational help that will allow the most effective relief effort. The Aftermath System is put into place and from moment one becomes the data processing center that is used as relief efforts begin, volunteers arrive to help, and needs are prioritized and met as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Aftermath Systems will be set up at Command Centers at areas designated by the Mississippi Baptist Convention. These command centers remain open through the immediate relief efforts as well as the rebuilding efforts that follow. (For example, after Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi Baptist Convention had designated 7 command centers to be operational one year after the event). These systems remain on-site at the Command Centers for the duration of the relief/rebuild operations.
